Why I Work with Demons AND Angels

and what I really mean by “harmony” when referring to pantheon chains and wearable altars.

.

You’ve probably heard the phrase angels and demons tossed around in pop culture—usually with a dramatic pause or accompanying moral lesson. But when I say it, especially in the context of pantheon chains and wearable altars, I’m inviting you into an ancient—and much more complex—experience.

In ceremonial magic, particularly within traditions like the Ars Goetia and the Shem HaMephorash, there’s this beautiful dual structure: 72 spirits commonly called “demons,” and 72 angelic beings said to balance or correspond to them. They’re often paired across a great celestial mirror—reflections, not rivals.

The Goetic spirits have long been labeled as “fallen angels.” But here’s the thing: I don’t really believe in falling from grace. Not in the way those words have historically been used to separate us from our individual stories, our ancestors, or the spirits who walk beside us. I believe in divergence. In mystery. In spirits who took another road, and maybe weren’t invited back to the humanity house once the monotheists moved in.

And still—they persisted. And so did their symbols.

The Angelic chain I’ve created doesn’t exist in contrast to the Goetic. It exists alongside it. Not good versus evil, but harmony in duality. Because the more I work with these beings the more I understand that what we call “opposites” are often just companions with different jobs.

You’re not choosing sides when you wear a sigil—angelic or infernal. You’re choosing to honor the spectrum.

A Note on Universal Balance

I don’t believe that angels are here to fix what demons have broken. I don’t actually think anything is broken. When I talk about balance, I’m not talking about moral scales or cosmic punishments. (Or the all-too-familiar feeling of “I’ve been feeling really great lately… o guess I should start preparing myself for the next crisis to come up). Im talking about wholeness. About the deep, wild truth that the universe is made of so much more than we can see—and most of us are working with just a few edge pieces of a thousand-piece puzzle. Human history depicts Gods and goddesses, ancestors and primordial beings, angels and demons, and energies that don’t fit cleanly into any name we’ve ever known.

The pantheon chains I’m creating—Goetic, Angelic, and yes, the Greek pantheon is coming next! 🤩—are my way of holding that puzzle in my hands, even just a little. They’re a way to honor this perfectly imperfect experience we find ourselves in.

A way to say: I see you and I don’t need to label you to be able to listen.

That’s the kind of balance I believe in. Not symmetry—but story. Not correction—but connection.

So whether you’re drawn to the fierce clarity of a Goetic name or the clean linea of an angelic sigil—or, like me, you find yourself somewhere in between—there’s room for you here.

Because duality doesn’t mean division.

Stay curious. Stay A’Mused.
